Sisters are doing it for themselves!!!
37% of New Businesses launched in 2012 have been started by Women – I find that so exciting!
Of course many factors can trigger someone wanting to “do it for themselves”, and it seems that a lot of women in particular have been hit by the current tuff economy and job market… but rather than letting it get them down – they have been looking at their talents and starting something up!
But I have to say – it makes perfect sense to me. What are our natural talents ladies – multi-tasking, juggling and trying to keep everyone happy all the time…. sounds like a CEO to me! And of cause the flexibility to build a Business around other family commitments makes it really appealing to work for yourself.
This time last year – a couple of ladies went to their Boss and asked for a couple of hours off to see their Children’s Nativity play – and they were told “NO”. They literally walked out of their Jobs that minute to enjoy their daughters performances and a great Christmas with their family. Come January 2nd they had decided to set up a Business as Cleaning Ladies. One year later, and they have a waiting list and have never been happier. Not only that – but having them in my life helps me achieve my dream of working for myself too! And do you know what… they saw their kids play again this year – but they were flexible enough to make sure they didn’t let even a single client down.
So, Sisters doing it for themselves… yes certainly – but I think we are also doing it for Each-other!
